Privacy
1. What we collect
Email address, rank, and profile details you provide at signup. Quiz scores, PRT results, saved articles, ribbon rack, and ship-date are stored to power the app. We don't collect SSN, DoD ID, or classified information — never input these.
2. How we use it
Solely to provide the NavyOS service. We do not sell your data, rent it, trade it, or share it with advertisers. NavyBot AI conversations are processed by our LLM provider (Google Gemini / OpenAI) under their zero-retention APIs.
3. Payments
Handled by Stripe. We never see your full card number. Stripe stores a customer ID; we link it to your NavyOS account.
4. Push notifications
Opt-in only. Stored as a browser push subscription (or Expo push token on mobile). You can turn it off in Settings or your browser notification preferences at any time.
5. Your rights
You may request a full export of your data, or delete your NavyOS account and all associated data, at any time. In the mobile app: Settings → Privacy → Export My Data, or Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. Or email support@navyos.app — we process deletion requests within 24 hours. Deletion is permanent.
6. Children
NavyOS is for active-duty and veteran sailors and their families. Not intended for users under 17. We don't knowingly collect data from minors.
7. Security
Passwords are bcrypt-hashed. API traffic is TLS 1.2+. Sessions use httpOnly cookies + JWT bearer. We disclose any breach within 72 hours per GDPR / California CCPA.
8. Not affiliated with DoD
NavyOS is an independent reference tool. We are not part of, endorsed by, or funded by the U.S. Navy or Department of Defense.
